Watching video in the Player, which adapts to you, not you to him.
Directly in the browser and without the use of third-party programs.
Adjust the size, color, and even transparency of individual Player elements.
The large size of the controls, not distracting you to search for them with the mouse cursor.
Full and multifunctional control of the Player can be carried out with only one mouse.
On the web page with the video you need to play, click on the addon icon in the upper right corner of the browser.
There are two menus: service menu for addon
(1)
and Player menu
(2),
in which video links should be added in the
"Recommended" and "Other links"
lists.
Additional information
Playback can be done in two ways:
1) The most convenient way is to click directly on the
Quick play button
.
2) In
Player menu
,
left-click on the green part of one of the links in
"Recommended" and "Other links"
lists,
to start playing the video at this link.
When video playing on the site (not in the addon player), the green part of its link in the
Player menu
highlighted in brighter green.
When playing in the Player - in brighter red color.
If playback does not start?
If the necessary links to play is missing?
Player control is implemented easy to learn and use, customizable,
and also provides the ability to control the entire process with just the mouse. Of course, for convenience, keyboard shortcuts are also present.
In addition to standard actions with visible elements of the Player, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the following list of actions:
Your action |
Result action |
Click the Left mouse button on the video in the Player |
Play/Pause |
Double click of the Left mouse button |
Toggle fullscreen mode |
(how to set another action?) |
Moving the cursor to the Left, while holding the left mouse button (swipe left) |
Collapse (minimize mode) player |
(how to pause a played video when minimized)
|
Moving the cursor to the Right, while holding the left mouse button (swipe right) |
Close the player and stop the current video |
(how to set the distance to move the cursor necessary to trigger the swipe action?)
|
Click the Right mouse button on the video in the Player |
Rewind video forward/backward depending on the area, in which you clicked. |
(more about these rewind areas and where to set them up?)
|
Scrolling the mouse wheel, when the cursor is over the video in the Player |
Increase / decrease the volume of the video being played |
Downloading video is available on sites, if the developers of these sites do not provide reliable protection against this.
For each link in the lists of
Player menu
there are 3 areas:
Area
(1), click on which will start the video playback;
Area
(2), click on which will download the video to your device;
Area
(3), click on which will lead to an attempt to find out the size of the video file (in mb or Gb).
(Download or the ability to find out the size is not always available, find out why?)
(The downloaded file has the size of a video file,
but is not recognized as a video, what should I do?)
(If the necessary links to download is missing?)
For a complete understanding of what the Player is capable of, we recommend that you also read:
- Addon Settings
. There are not many of them, besides, hints are attached to each.

Roadmap of Universal Custom Player development.
- User agreement, if you have not already done so.
We remind you that, when you install this addon, you automatically agree with it.
If you like Universal Custom Player, do not forget to share the link to this page with others. This will only improve the addon's quality as a whole.

At this stage, the activation of the addon occurred only for the
current browser tab.
When navigating through pages in this tab, the Player will automatically load into it
(how to enable/disable autoload?)
,
and its menu will be shown in minimized mode to save screen space.
When opening links in new tabs from the current tab, where the Player has already been loaded,
the Player will also be automatically loaded into the new ones
(how to enable/disable this?)
,
and its menu will also be initially minimized.
(what is Player minimized mode?)
Automatic loading occurs, until this tab or browser is closed or the corresponding addon settings are disabled.
Player Autoload options can be turned on and off by switching the corresponding "Player Autoload" and
"Player Autoload in subtabs" options in the "WebSites" section of
Addon Settings
.
Minimized Player menu mode is a compact unit,
including only the short addon's name, as well as 2 numbers:
Number
(1) - the number of found "Recommended" video links for playback.
Number
(2) - the number of "Other" links, respectively.
When any of these numbers changes, it is temporarily highlighted in red.
After trying to play a video in the Player, sometimes the video may not start playing.
We recommend to do the following steps, step by step each, unless the previous one worked:
1) Wait, it can sometimes take a long time, up to 1 minute,
for the site server to provide you with the necessary access.
2) Try again to play the video for the same link.
3) Maybe the current link is not working, you should try another one from the list in the
Player menu
.
If it does not immediately play, it is recommended to wait a bit.
4) If among other links there is no necessary link, maybe the link is simply not in the list
(what to do?)
.
5) If all the previous tips did not help, you should reload the current page, as it is likely that some rare error occurred on the side of the site.
It is important to understand that if any video is played on the site, then it should be played in the Player.
Exceptions are videos, that require third-party addons on the site (except for Flash player technology, which is supported by the Universal Custom Player addon).
If all the information provided does not help, you can write to us about your problem on the
Help page.
All data you transmit keep strict confidentiality and is used only to eliminate errors in the addons.
If the video is present on the site, the link to play it is not always immediately shown in the
Player menu
.
The same applies to the
Quick play buttons
,
but for each of the site's video.
Also, when playing on a site (not in the addon player) of a video, the green part of its link in the
Player menu
should be highlighted in bright green.
When playing in the Player - a bright red color.
We recommend to do the following steps, step by step each, unless the previous one worked:
1) Wait a bit, up to ~30 seconds, so that the site server can provide you with the necessary access.
2) Start playing a video on the site, in most cases it helps.
3) For more links, you can use the "Scan also Texts" function by clicking on it in the "Advanced actions" section in the
Player menu
.
4) Partially, the Entire search for links, like the function "Search also in texts", depends on the list of video formats,
specified in the "Video formats to search" section of the "Search" section of
Addon Settings
.
Try adding to this parameter several video formats from the parameter's tip.
5) Try temporarily disabling other addons in turn, followed by a page reload and checking for the presence of the required link.
The main problem can be addons, that block connections or parts of the site’s content (ad blockers, etc.).
If you find a third-party add-on that creates problems, we recommend to change it or temporarily disable it as necessary.
6) If all the previous tips did not help, you should reload the current page, as it is likely that some rare error occurred.
If all the information provided does not help, you can write to us about your problem on the
Help page.
All data you transmit keep strict confidentiality and is used only to eliminate errors in the addons.
These green buttons (links) are in the upper left corner of each of the videos on the site you visit.
They provide the ability to play videos, over which they are located, without the need to search for relevant links in
Player menu
If there is no such button near some video, try to wait a little (no more than 30 seconds)
or start playing this video directly on the website, which is often a solution.
(what to do, if the video does not play?)
You can adjust the opacity of these buttons in the "Search" section of
Addon Settings
You can change the action of the Double-click of the Left mouse button on the Player to "Toggle Full-Screen mode",
"Toggle Full-Window mode" or "To do nothing" in the "Playback" section of
Addon Settings
.
You can pause the video while minimizing the Player by activating the appropriate setting in
the "Playback" section of
Addon Settings
.
You can set the distance of movement (swipe) of the cursor, necessary for triggering the corresponding action,
by changing the corresponding setting in the "Playback" section of
Addon Settings
.
The Rewind areas are needed to rewind the video forward / backward for specific time intervals
and are 8 rectangles that fill all the space above the video being played in the Player.
4 of these areas are located in the Upper part and have the "Force Rewind mode".
When you click on them with the Right mouse button,
you can rewind the video even to sections of the video, that have not yet been loaded into the buffer.
4 areas located in the Lower part, have a "Soft Rewins mode".
When you click on them with the Right mouse button, you can rewind the video only within the buffered sections of the video.
"Soft Rewind mode" is especially useful, if you do not want to wait for some time to start loading a new video section into the buffer,
by accidentally clicking on a section that has not yet been buffered.
In addition, if you often choose areas outside of buffered ones, then the playback at some point may completely stop,
since the site server will consider that it is being exposed to a DDOS attack.
In this case, only reloading the page can help.
Buffered areas are indicated by a thin horizontal bar of green (by default) color on the progress bar at the bottom of the Player.
You can adjust the size and amount of rewind time for these areas in the "Playback" section of
Addon Settings
By default, as soon as the video's link is added to 1 of the
Player menu
's list of links,
an attempt is immediately made to find out the size of the video file from this link, and the result is displayed
in the blue field of the corresponding link in the
Player menu
.
If the size, specified in this field, is too small (less than 0.1 mb), then most likely the link does not lead to the video file,
and an attempt to play such a video will fail, unless, of course,
the video from this link has a very short duration (0~30 seconds).
If the size cannot be found ("-" is displayed in the blue field), then you can try to find
out the size again by clicking on the blue field of the link in the
Player menu
list.
If the size is still unknown, then most likely it will not be possible to download the video file.
We recommend using search engines to find the same video by its name on another site and try to download it there.
In most cases, the
inability to download a video is found for some links with an indefinite "url" file format
(this type is displayed in the left (green / red) link area in the
Player menu
),
in contrast to the formats that could be determined (mp4, avi, wmv, etc.).
In this case, it is important to understand that the developers of the site on which you want to download a video file,
have taken care of protection from download actions by visitors. And although this link can sometimes play the video in the Player,
you will not be able to download the file without fulfilling certain conditions, provided by the site for this
(registration, subscription, etc.), or using specialized software provided specifically for this site, which we do not recommend to use.
In the
Player menu
for the links found on the site there are 2 lists: "Recommended" and "Other links".
"Recommended" links are taken directly from the players, built into the site, and should always be able to be played.
(what to do if the video does not play?)
"Other links" are taken from all other sources, including the "Scan also Texts" function,
which can be used by clicking on it in the "Advanced actions" section of
Player menu
.
The video file you downloaded earlier may be as large as a normal video file, but not defined as a video.
In this case, make sure that the full file's name contains a video format at the end.
To do this, try renaming the file and add at the end one of the following popular formats,
if they are missing (without quotes): ".mp4", ".avi", ".flv", ".webm".
After that, try to open the video. If there are errors in playback, try changing the format again.
The Player menu has full-size and
minimized
modes,
by default it is located on the right side of the browser and looks like this:
To invoke this menu, simply click on the icon of the Universal Custom Player addon in the upper right corner of the browser.
To enter Addon Settings, you need to call the addon service menu by clicking on the addon icon
in the upper right corner of the browser until the service menu appears.
In this menu, select "Control Panel".
